What to Wear When Going on A Ziplining Tour

Ziplining is a thrilling outdoor recreational sport. You may make it more fascinating by taking it over the canopy of the jungle. You may go zip lining in a variety of vacation destinations, including Mexico, Costa Rica, Hawaii, or just about anywhere.

Most locations now provide classes in zip lining, which has been gaining in popularity for a while. Having the appropriate attire is crucial if you plan to zip line while on vacation or in your hometown.

Ziplining is a relatively safe activity but could be hazardous if the wrong outfit is worn. In this article we will be discussing the basics of ziplining, outfits to be worn to prevent accidents and major clothing to be avoided so you can enjoy your zipline adventure.

What to Wear When Ziplining?

When preparing to go for a zipline line tour, we advise you get familiar with the course weather to enable you to dress most appropriately for your zip-lining adventure. It is important you put on layers of clothes that are breathable and allow you to move freely.

Tops for Ziplining

In places such as Kaanapali, Big Island, and Kauai zipline courses where the weather is hot and with a very intense sun we advise you wear short sleeve shirts or tank tops. This helps keep your body temperature at the right level.

However, in a Haleakala or similar courses with higher elevation, where the temperatures are cooler in the morning we recommend the use of a sweatshirt or jacket.

Ziplining Bottoms

Ziplining is best done in long pants or capris. Men may be able to wear longer shorts, but if a woman is wearing shorts, the harness straps may occasionally irritate her legs throughout the ride. Because all of your weight rests on the leg loops of the harness while you are flying on the line, the straps can be uncomfortable if you are not putting on the proper bottoms.

Although not necessarily comfortable, the harness straps are made to be strong and safe. Therefore, you should put some sort of layer of clothing between your skin and the strap. For added comfort and mobility when ziplining, women will occasionally don leggings.

Ziplining Shoes

For ziplining, it is necessary to wear close-toed shoes such as hiking boots and tennis shoes. The tour involves a lot of walking and trekking, so wearing closed-toe shoes will help you feel more comfortable throughout this part of the adventure.

It’s also crucial to wear the right footwear because your feet can hardly keep up with you as you approach the landing at the end of a zipline without them. Closed-toe footwear will protect your feet from injury as you land.

Last but not least, as you’re flying through the air, closed-toe shoes will stay on. This is crucial since nobody enjoys losing their shoes while having a zip-lining experience.

What to Wear Ziplining in Summer

Sun protection is crucial because summers may be very hot. Peak season temperatures can reach the high 30s. Before your excursion, make sure to apply sunscreen. You don’t need a cap because you’ll be putting on a helmet, but you can bring sunglasses.

If you intend to wear sunglasses, check sure they are properly secured by giving your head a little shake. If they come off during this, they will probably come off when ziplining; however, if they stay on, you are set to go.

You should wear clothing that you feel comfortable moving around in because you’ll be doing some light hiking between zip lines. The harness you’ll be wearing includes separate leg loops and needs to be worn over top of clothing, we advise against putting on any form of a skirt.

Shoes MUST be close-toed shoes. While ziplining, it is not only possible but also necessary to remove your sandals/flip-flops for safety reasons. A lightweight running shoe or hiking boot is advised.

What to Wear When Ziplining In Winter

A long-sleeved shirt, a sweater, and then a zip-up fleece or soft shell would be the optimum layering sequence.

Additionally, wearing several layers gives you the flexibility to remove or add clothes as needed to regulate your body temperature.

A thin beanie, sometimes known as a “skull cap,” can easily fit underneath a helmet. A big difference in your experience can be made by keeping your head and ears warm. Carrying hand warmers in your pocket is a great idea. They are cheap and provide fantastic hand warmth in your pocket.

The same as anywhere else, wearing layers helps keep your legs warm. Under jeans, leggings, base layers, or even just sweatpants will help keep the heat inside and the cold outside. A crucial accessory for comfort is a good pair of wool socks.

Women’s Zip-lining Outfits

Women tend to wonder if there are special outfits they are to wear ziplining however, the most important thing to remember is to dress comfortably to suit the adventure and weather.

Instead of dressing in a dress or a skirt, you should dress comfortably for a zipline tour. As you run, your clothing will fly around the track as you accelerate through the air quickly. Wear athletic attire that won’t move too quickly if you intend to zip down the zipline.

Most firms offering zip-line tours often don’t allow flip-flops. You should also hold your hair with a band to prevent it from flying around even though helmets are to be worn, this is usually provided by the tour company.

What Should You Not Wear for Ziplining

Shorts, especially sports shorts, should be avoided. Longer shorts can be worn, but it is always preferable to wear capris, leggings, or long pants. Additionally, you should pick the correct materials, especially pants made for athletic activities that have moisture-wicking capabilities.

Opened shoes should be avoided as they can fall off your feet while you zip-line. Finally, tight clothing should be avoided.

How Do I Protect My Phone While Ziplining?

When ziplining, you can frequently use a belt bag or fanny pack. This can be used to store items like your phone, wallet, and keys. Additionally, it is a good idea to get a strap for your sunglasses if you use them so they will stay put on your head when you are flying through the air.

Can I Wear A Dress To Zipline?

Yes, however, it won’t be ideal. We would advise you to dress comfortably rather than wearing a dress or a skirt.

Can You Wear Jeans on a Zipline?

We advise wearing longer shorts or pants because, as you will be wearing a tight harness, they will cause your pants to ride up. Stretch or yoga pants can be incredibly comfy, whereas jeans can be snug but still functional most of the time!

Can You Wear a Belt Bag to Zipline?

If you have anything in your pockets when ziplining, it’s likely that it will fall out while you’re on the line. You are strapped into the harness, which has caused you to be seated in this position.

Many times, you can zipline while wearing a belt bag or fanny pack. You can use this to keep your belongings, like your phone, wallet, and keys.
